FaithNet Associate
Job Description:
NAMI-SCC FaithNet is an innovative program created at NAMI-Santa Clara County (NAMISCC) to create inclusive, mental health-friendly faith communities across Santa Clara County through education, support, and public awareness presentations.
Purpose:
The FaithNet Associate will facilitate mental health education for faith leaders and their communities, empowering them to integrate mental health awareness into their spiritual practices and cultivate compassionate, inclusive environments that promote emotional well-being and community resilience. The FaithNet Associate will report to the FaithNet Coordinator.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The FaithNet Associate performs a wide range of duties, including but not limited to the following. They must be

- Comfortable delivering outreach presentations- both online and in person, to diverse audiences, including faith leaders, family, and community members.
- Must be available to work weekday evenings and weekends to meet the needs and schedules of the faith community.
- Skilled in connecting, building, and maintaining respectful, trust-based relationships with faith communities.
- Demonstrates cultural humility and sensitivity when engaging with diverse populations around mental health topics.
- Support faith communities in becoming Mental Health Friendly, Stigma-Free Certified congregations by working under the guidance of the FaithNet Program Coordinator.
- Respond promptly and professionally in all communications with the faith leaders, colleagues, and community partners.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving locally for event-related errands and transport of materials.
- Distribute the FaithNet brochure & materials to recruit faith communities in becoming mental health stigma-free Congregations.
- Monitor the progress of faith communities as they complete tasks outlined in the FaithNet brochure, ensure the FaithNet Program Coordinator is included in all related communications, and transition the certification process to the Coordinator for final review and approval.
- Record and maintain the program related information (hard and electronic) according to NAMI-SCC data management protocols.
- Wear the NAMI badge and blue shirt at events or whenever representing NAMI-SCC.
- Attend the mandatory weekly team meetings in addition to required trainings and one-on-ones with the supervisor.
- Maintain an accurate record of their outreach activities on their timesheets and provide weekly reports to the program coordinator.
- Obtain prior approval for any expenses before making purchases or commitments.
- Adhere to and support the implementation of NAMI-SCC policies and procedures.
Qualifications:

- AA degree or equivalent experience
- Completion of a NAMI Family-To-Family or Peer-To-Peer education class (required)

- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge and understanding of NAMI’s mission and programs
- Ability to work and respect people who have different religious and cultural beliefs

Other Details:
Part-time: 10 hours a week (Hybrid)
Pay: $25 per hour
