The aim of this study is to inform how behavioral sleep treatments can be adapted to better meet the needs of family caregivers who experience sleep challenges while providing support to a family member with serious mental illness.
We are aiming to investigate sleep difficulties and treatment seeking behavior among familial caregivers of patients with serious mental illness. By gaining insight into the unique challenges that caregivers face through focus groups, we hope to inform the adaptation of non-medication, behavioral sleep therapies to better meet their diverse needs.
During focus groups, participants will be asked to discuss the impact caregiving has on their sleep and perceived barriers/facilitators to seeking and engaging in non-medication sleep treatments.
