Sarah Prabhu, the Programs Manager grew up in India. She and her family lived in various countries around the world and have now settled in sunny California. Her background is in Clinical Biochemistry and Biotechnology. When her loved ones started experiencing emotional health struggles, she reached out to NAMI. She is grateful for the support she received at NAMI and so felt compelled give back. She began volunteering at NAMI-Santa Clara County by teaching NAMI Basics classes, facilitating the Transition Age Youth (TAY) family support group, a faith-based parent support group called Parents of Vision (FaithNet Model) and working one day a week at Helpline. Now, as the Programs Manager, she supports the executive director in carrying out NAMI-Santa Clara County’s mission and oversee NAMI peer programs. In her spare time, she likes to cook, go on hikes with friends and spend time with her wonderful family.
