Kristina Alaniz, Events Coordinator, brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to mental wellness and community building as she joins NAMI Santa Clara County as our newest special events coordinator. With over 25 years of nonprofit experience, Kristina’s journey in the field has been marked by her dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of others.

Having grown up and attended school in the Bay Area, Kristina’s roots run deep in the community she serves. Her last decade was spent in education, where she led alumni fundraising efforts, spearheaded community outreach initiatives, and orchestrated a myriad of special events ranging from holiday parties to galas. It was during this time that Kristina attended a NAMI Family-to-Family course as a parent herself, sparking a profound personal and professional journey into mental health advocacy.

Motivated by her newfound passion, Kristina underwent training to co-lead classes for others, further deepening her involvement with NAMI. Together with former classmates, she formed team “Saturday School” at last year’s NAMI walks event, channeling her energy into raising awareness and support for mental health initiatives.

Now, Kristina merges her expertise in event planning with her unwavering dedication to mental wellness as she steps into her new role at NAMI Santa Clara County. Her blend of compassion, creativity, and organizational prowess promises to elevate our events to new heights, fostering connections and driving positive change within our community.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Kristina finds solace in the outdoors and cherishes moments spent with her beloved fur babies – one Chihuahua and four cats. However, her greatest source of joy comes from her three children, affectionately referred to as her “three little birds,” who inspire her to continue making a difference in the world every day.
